I bought this bike as a cold weather project and have performed maintenance and a few repairs to get everything working correctly.
It has LED headlight and passing lights in place of the OEM sealed beam.
The wind screen is has two settings for height and does a good job of reducing wind noise and providing protection from objects and rain.
It has an adjustable shock absorber for the rear suspension and a Baron tachometer.
The passenger back rest and luggage rack, combined with the detachable and lockable side bags give you plenty of capacity for open road travel.
To reduce right hand fatigue there is a Brake Away Throttle Cruise lock.
A phone mount and a USB port allows phone to provide audio and GPS functions.
There are additional red stop lights on the rear for added visibility.
The rider I got it from had laid it down to avoid an accident and lost interest in riding and maintenance.
A couple of scratches remain, but nothing is very obvious any longer.
The specific work I have done is listed below.
I have put about 200 miles on it to check it out.
It is a great cruising bike.
The transmission shifts securely and the Barnet Clutch is smooth and sure.
It currently has Michelin Commander tires with fairly good tread with dates of 2016, so it might benefit from new tires before too long.
(The new owner should make the choice for brand and timing.
) It is a lot of motorcycle for a modest price.
I replaced the front fork tubes, seals and bushings, and fork oil.
New front brake and clutch leversNew brake pads and fluid flush, front and rearNew brake rotor on rear wheelEngine oil and filter changeNew AGM sealed Battery 330 CCA 1 year warranty with battery tender cableNew Spark plugsimproved the mounts for the side bagsinstalled Barnett clutch friction plates and pressure platecomes with a spare LED headlightTwo of the pictures should show the extent of the scratches -- a little on the top exhaust pipe and a little on the right side of the front fender.
The additional pictures are a good representation of a 25 year old motorcycle in good condition.
