BLOOD BANK TECHNICAL SPECIALIST TEAM EDUCATOR
BLOOD BANKTECHNICAL SPECIALIST TEAM EDUCATOR:
This position responsibilities include the following:
Provides leadership and technical expertise and specialized technical skills that primarily support laboratory medical directors, lead techs and other lab personnel (managers, supervisors and med techs).
Supports standardization, training, and professional development of staff including development of annual technical competency assessment.
Ensures compliance of laboratory technical areas with the standards of accreditation organizations (CAP, JC).
Works closely with the medical director and site mangers to ensure quality services.
Provides input and documentation for performance assessment.
Works with department supervisors, lead techs, and med techs to develop efficient processes and procedures to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
Provides oversight and support for departmental leads, including assistance with standardization of quality control, proficiency testing, QA, coordinates LIS activities and process improvement.
Serves as the department liaison with CAP to ensure ongoing compliance with established standards.
Provides project management when selecting instrumentation, methods and related discipline processes.
Oversees document management of department policies/procedures.
Attends the Laboratory Utilization and Practice Committee as needed.
Organizes department meetings and attends the direct report meetings.
Travel to the other sites will be required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Associate's Degree in Medical Technology American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
Experience:
4-5 years Technical SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Technical expertise in related lab discipline, such as Hematology, Chemistry, or Microbiology.
Customer service and computer skills required.
