Physician (Regular Ft)

This Physician will provide interim coverage for primary care physician vacancies and for physicians on extended leave. Coverage may be provided at the main facility or at any of the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC's):
Hamilton County CBOC, Dearborn County Indiana CBOC, Bellevue Kentucky CBOC, Florence Kentucky CBOC, Clermont County Ohio CBOC, Georgetown Ohio CBOC. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide primary care to a panel of patients as a member of a team including an RN, LPN, and clerical assistant. Provide care to patients with acute and chronic health problems Provide preventative medical care including screening and vaccinations Assist personnel on other primary care teams when the team provider is absent Partner with community physicians, inpatient physicians, and the emergency department to provide coordination and continuity of care. Work as a team with services including pharmacy, social work, mental health, and nutrition to provide comprehensive care. Refer patients to specialists when additional input is desired and required for symptom and disease management. Possess excellent communication skills, be able to elicit cooperation from others, and develop positive relationships with primary care (PACT) team members and hospital staff. This includes interacting in person, via email, phone, medical chart, and other forms of communication. Collaborate with mental health and specialty personnel in the ongoing management of mutual patients. Monitor team performance to assess adherence to VA standards, assure quality and effectiveness of care, and meet VA performance measures. Respond to patient inquiries that arise from daily practice, through the Patient Advocate, through the Front Office, and by Congressional action. Participate in administrative duties including peer review, hospital committees, performance improvement, and other duties as assigned. Provide outstanding customer service, utilizing the VA ICARE (Integrity, Respect, Excellence) principles and maintaining professional behavior and attitude at all times. Financial Disclosure Report:

This position qualifies for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA. You may be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program pending funding availability. EDRP awards are based on the availability of funds and Department need. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and apply for EDRP within four (4) months of appointment. Final award amount and program start date is determined after review of a complete EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Experience:
Board Eligible / Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is desired Experience in geriatrics and longitudinal patient care is desired. Reference:

Per VA Directive and Handbook 5019 - a physical examination will be conducted based on the physical requirements of the position. A physical examination prior to placement is required. This position may require heavy lifting, 45 pounds and over; light carrying, under 15 pounds; reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; both hands required; walking (8 hours); standing (8 hours); ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable at 13 to 16 to Jaeger 1 to 4; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; ability to distinguish basic colors; ability to distinguish shades of colors; hearing (aid permitted); mental and emotional stability; clear speech. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs. Rigid deadlines and need for high degree of accuracy periodically becomes stressful.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
