Administrative Support Assistant (OA)

Provides business services to internal and external customers. The position works collaboratively with staff in the park's business group to facilitate a full range of business services, such as Workforce Management, Payroll, Acquisitions, Banking Deposits, Property, Travel, etc. Serves in an advisory capacity to park managers, employees, and other administrative assistants within the business group regarding administrative guidelines, policies and regulations. Business group member parks include William Howard Taft NHS, Dayton Aviation Heritage NHP, Hopewell Culture NHP, Pullman NM and Indiana Dunes NL. Area Information:
William Howard Taft National Historic Site is located in uptown Cincinnati, Ohio. Cincinnati is the county seat of Hamilton County Ohio. The city is located on the north bank of the Ohio River a the Ohio-Kentucky border, near Indiana. The population within city limits was 296,943 making it Ohio's third-largest city. According to the 2011 Census Bureau estimate, the Cincinnati metropolitan area had a population of 2,138,038. Amenities are typical of a Midwestern city and include a wide variety of educational and cultural opportunities, as well as professional, commercial and health services. Cincinnati is home to two major sports teams, the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals. The climate is cold in winter and hot and humid in summer. Government housing is not available but a variety of housing options are available for rent or purchase in the local area. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. In addition to the typing requirement above and the minimum qualifications described below, selectees must be able collect and account for money. To qualify for this position at the GS-6 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
knowledge and application of regulatory requirements, such as providing program and administrative support; operating office automation equipment in the preparation of a variety of reports, letters, memorandums, transmittals, etc.; receiving visitors and ascertaining the nature of their business; furnishing statistical, general, or specific information; reviewing time sheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations; preparing leasing studies and human resource/workforce management procedures. Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
