Job duties
Responsibilities of the position include a variety of quality engineering functions for specific phases of projects to develop plans, flow charts, inspection methods, procedures and standards, including detailed instructions, check lists, sampling plans, classification of defects, etc.; to assure all products, data or services meet specified quality requirements. Interpreting and flowing down customer quality requirements to design engineering and manufacturing. Will review Engineering and Manufacturing information on new and existing designs, specifications, and bills of materials; production, tool and test equipment drawings; operations and routing sheets:
production, storage and shipping methods to assure that products meet customers' requirements with minimum variation and ease of inspection.
Proficient in quality analysis techniques (statistical analysis, problem solving, process mapping, SPC, Root Cause and CAPA process, etc.).
Interface with Government/customer, during product testing and/or special inspection or test equipment reviews.
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
Candidate Qualifications
BS in a technical related discipline. The individual must also possess 8-10 years of work experience in an electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. Experience with pwb assembly and electronic components is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for this position. The individual must also posses the ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics. Must interact effectively with management, peers, and other employees relative to quality and technical issues. The individual must have demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum oversight and be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as with Minitab.The ability to identify, interpret, and apply problem-solving tools such as root cause analysis, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA and CAPA is essential. Additional desired experience includes:
DOD/government contracts, energetics, J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 training/certification. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer designations also desired.
