Industrial Maintenance Technician

CLASS
Summary:
Responsible for skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical/mechanical/industrial systems at the Airport.
Emphasis on passenger loading bridges, other terminal gate support equipment, terminal properties and baggage handling equipment.
Preventative maintenance and repair on the same systems.
Operate various measuring, diagnostic and testing equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Other duties may include snow removal, operating heavy equipment, data entry, facilities on-call responsibilities, as well as supporting other needs of the Airport as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.
Performs maintenance and/or installation of electrical systems/equipment at the Airport.
Must have a thorough understanding of the National Electric Code, NFPA-70E, and the ability to read blueprints.
Maintain, calibrate and safely repair mechanical systems such as pumps, bearings, seals, gears, etc.
Install, conduct diagnostics on, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical equipment of 480 volts.
Maintains HVAC equipment, performs preventative maintenance, installation and repair as required.
Complete work orders and record time/material utilized on jobs, through a computer based asset management system.
Assist with contracted inspections to meet Airport standards and developing improvements to facilities equipment.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
TRAINING AND
Experience:
High School diploma or GED and five years' experience in relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as listed above.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC License, Journeyman Plumbing License and/or accredited certification or diploma in association with jobs listed above Commercial Driver's license - Class B (or the ability to acquire a Class B within 6 months of the hire date) Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance KNOWLEDGE OF:
Electrical theory and calculations; Motor controls; Mechanical concepts, i.

engine operation, maintaining industrial equipment; Cutting, soldering and welding; Programmable Logic Controls (PLC's); Preventative Maintenance practices; Fluid power and pneumatics; Generators, VFDs and UPS; OSHA standards, National Electric Code and ASHRAE guidelines; SKILL IN:
Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing and spreadsheets; Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require:
climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling, talking hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Heavy Work:
exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
