Overview:
oProvides Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Weld Procedures Specifications (WPS) for all welding jobs.
oReviews customer welding specifications and requirements and coordinates with fabrication manufacturing engineering for proper welding procedures, methods and welder qualifications.
oDevelops weld techniques and procedures consistent with advanced metal joining technologies.
oMonitors welder qualifications to ensure customer specification requirements are met.
oAssists manufacturing, fabrication and manufacturing engineers in improving overall quality, productivity and understanding of customer welding requirements and specifications.
oServes as the primary weld technology engineering focal point with customers and industry representatives.
oStays current and aware of the standards from AWS and other industry oversight and governing organizations.
oResearches latest technologies and strategies to add to GTC's capabilities and enhance efficiencies so we can maintain a competitive edge.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
oCustomer prints and specifications are presented in easily understood requirements and process plans for welding.
oAll welding is performed to required customer specifications.
Audits are conducted to ensure compliance.
oWelding and Fabrication Process improvements are identified and implemented.
oWelding errors are prevented and eliminated by proactively taking corrective actions.
oWeld procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR) are developed consistent with customer weld specifications and industry standards.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
oAssist business units with customer inquiries concerning interpretation of welding qualification requirements and specifications.
oReviews customer requirements and specifications and provides cost estimates as required.
Communicates with manufacturing engineers during the estimating process.
oRepresents General Tool Company with customers in technical issues relating to welding and joining.
oDevelops WPSs and PQRs needed to conform to customer welding specifications and directs the physical testing of test samples.
oDirects welder qualifications testing for conformance to the PQR / WPS within AWS guidelines.
oAssists supervisors and welders with process problems pertaining to welding.
oMonitors the qualifications records of welders to assure they have the correct qualifications to meet customer requirements.
oProvides training on welding specifications, qualifications, techniques and other information needed for welders to improve the quality of their welds.
oParticipates and initiates actions to continually improve processes, weld quality and reduce costs.
oMaintains processes and welder performance to conform to the requirements of NADCAP, ISO, AS, and customer audits.
oAssumes other responsibilities as assigned to include those noted in the fabrication engineering job description.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION:
oManufacturing, mechanical or weld engineering degree.
oThoroughly versed in AWS, NADCAP, AMS standards and other recognized industry authorities in welding, fabrication and heat treating.
oProficient in CAD software packages.
oIn depth knowledge in computer functions including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
EOEM/F/D/V Recommended Skills Auditing Cad Ms Project Manufacturing Engineering Microsoft Excel Microsoft Power Point Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
