The Product Development Specialist directs the efficient and effective execution of incremental new product development projects of the assigned Platform, through the appropriate Functional Teams, across all Business Units.
This includes consulting with internal and external STC associates relative to product specifications, attributes, features/benefits, utilization, timelines, and competitive positioning.
Collaborates with the Product Line Strategy Leader/Team and across functional Platform teams to create, develop, and manage new and modified product options required to satisfy requests or requirements generated by the Business Unit and/or customer(s) demand.
Key Responsibilities Include:
End to end ownership of the specific Platform's new product development (NPD) custom projects across all Business Units to ensure timely and accurate deliverables (which includes and is not limited to requesting product patterns, costs, samples, lab work, etc.
) Knowledge of Platform product line(s) which may include cross functional training as back up within the department Co-signature with Product Line Strategy for new product specifications (Tech Packs) and product change requests Lead through and resolve in a timely manner any bottlenecks or setbacks related to new product development execution while communicating with PLS to set and manage expectations NPD and PAC owner for Platform Teams Utilizing the STITCH NPD and BeProduct Software for all project tracking Understanding of technology/supply base/general market competitive landscape for owned Platform.
Utilize and maintain the usage of the disciplined NPD Process Preparation/Training in cost optimization efforts across all Platforms Understanding of applicable regulatory/legal influences Understanding and ownership of lab work requirement for NPD for specific Platform Supporting & Assisting with department metrics, daily management including lab work needed across all Platforms Ownership of Daily Management Objectives, SOP documentation and maintenance Attendance and participation in industry events, conferences, and trade shows as needed to continuously develop relevant product and technology expertise Any other projects outlined by the VP Platform Leadership Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's degree Textile experience and knowledge base Strong team player capable of leading others by influence with experience navigating and influencing stakeholders at all levels Highly adaptable, curious, detail oriented, results-driven, and continuous learner Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills to communicate across all levels within the organization and to various audiences Project Management Skills are desired Some Travel required Why Work at Standard Textile:
