Including one Sunday - approx once every 5 weeksWhat You'll Do:
Assist registered licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L) to plan/deliver treatments & conduct patient assessments:
plans & delivers individual &/or group occupational therapy (OT) services based upon standards of care per population (e.
g.
, adult, acute, intermediate, geriatric, forensic, mentally ill/mentally retarded MI/MR, substance abuse/mentally ill (SAMI), & Child & Family.

) served within the facility, provides assessment & treatment to patients with psycho social dysfunction, problems of aging, physical disabilities, substance abuse & other conditions interfering with daily living skill functioning; gathers data from patient record, administers structured tests, prioritize patient problems & needs based on strengths & weaknesses, selects appropriate therapeutic activities, organizes equipment &/or supplies, administers treatment in one-to-one & group settings, demonstrates & instructs proper techniques to patients & care givers, grades & modifies treatment as indicated.
Collaborates with treatment team & patients to follow agreed upon treatment plan:
attends treatment planning meetings, reports progress & discusses plan modifications, reports on long term & short term goals & objectives with patients & care givers, follows all policies& procedures for treatment planning, refers to outside sources when indicated.
Completes & compiles required written OT documentation & reports:
results of interviews, data gathering, progress notes, & summaries using computerized Patient Care System; uses LAN access for e-mail recovery & response; contributes to patient care monitoring & quality improvement (QI) activities in the OT Department.
Performs other related OT duties:
Participates on committees & communicates with community resources to facilitate networking & support of facility goals; attends mandated departmental meetings, & other instructional activities, conducts & attends professional in-services & participates in continuing education to maintain & enhance professional skills & knowledge; assists with ordering & maintenance of supplies & equipment; performs other duties to ensure continuity of patient care during emergency situations; supervises students/volunteers as needed.
