The Specialty Human Services Division (SHS) partners with independent retail agents and brokers to address the coverage needs and loss exposures of more than 15,000 human and social service organizations across the country. SHS has earned the nationwide reputation as a premier carrier in this sector.
The SHS Division is currently searching for a Service Associate in our Cincinnati office. The major product lines we underwrite within the Division include Commercial Property, Commercial General Liability, Inland Marine, Crime, Commercial Auto, Umbrella and Excess.
Responsibilities
Performs a variety of complex policy administration tasks in support of the business within established production and quality guidelines. Tasks may include:
Utilizes computerized systems for research, tracking, information gathering and / or troubleshooting (i.e., Excel / Word programs, legacy systems, internal systems, third party vendor delivered systems, etc.).
Reviews instructions from agent, underwriter, insured, broker, etc. to understand / determine what is needed to provide quotes, issuances, renewals, endorsements, etc.
Computes premiums on quotes, issuances, renewals, audits, endorsements and / or cancellations / reinstatements based on proper rate selection, rules and company procedures.
Enters rate, premium and / or policy information into appropriate systems for policy updates / issuance.
Maintains file accuracy and completeness.
Shares and / or conveys complex information electronically or in person to underwriters while maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations.
May participate in other departmental processes / projects, such as changes / enhancements to forms and screens, user acceptance testing for systems and policies.
May provide training, guidance and assistance to lowerlevel positions.
Works in a team environment to get tasks accomplished.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
2 to 5years general office experience, prior insurance experience preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong typing skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Strong organizational skills.
Works well in a team environment.
