Job Description The CDL A Driver/Warehouse Associate is based out of Rush's Cincinnati warehouse and will support terminal and warehouse operations, including making local deliveries of freight when needed. Responsibilities
  • Perform general warehouse duties, such as picking and packing orders, restocking shelves, and conducting inventory counts
  • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including the verification and documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Safely operate a forklift to load and unload trailers, ensuring proper positioning and securing of cargo
  • Inspect freight for defects and damages
  • Keep warehouse clean and organized daily
  • Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
  • Maintain building security
  • Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and inventory management
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.
  • Ability to move various trucks depending on terminal needs
  • Report maintenance issues with equipment to the terminal manager
  • Be able to communicate delays and problems with pickups / deliveries with the dispatch team
  • Complete freight pick up and deliveries
  • Complete a pre- trip and post trip inspection daily if driving
  • Properly use an electronic device and or complete daily paperwork that is required by the FMCSA and Rush
Qualifications Required Education and Work Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age of 23 years of age with training in a commercial motor vehicle
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid truck driving license with a driving record that meets Rush Expediting's commercial insurance requirements
  • Valid DOT physical is required for CDL drivers
  • Verifiable employment history of at least 3 years driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle
  • Ability to read/speak the English language satisfactorily to converse with the general public; understand traffic signs and signals; respond to official questions; and make legible entries on reports and records
  • Must not be disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under the rules in 49 CFR 391.15
  • Ability to pass a road test with an approved Rush driver
  • Pass a regulated drug screen in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association's requirements
  • Pass a physical exam (every 1-2 years)
  • Basic computer knowledge
Certificates and Licenses
  • You must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver s License, with air brakes endorsement.
  • You must be forklift certified (or become certified within 30 days of hire), including the ability to operate a pallet jack and other warehouse equipment

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday Hours 7:
    30am-4:
    30pm or as scheduled.
  • Flexibility with schedule to meet critical deadlines.
  • Overtime / Extended hours may include nights and/or weekends.
  • Normal scheduled hours may cover early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.
