The Director of Nursing (DON) serves in an executive nurse capacity.
The DON is knowledgeable and experienced in gerontology, long term care and supervision.
The DON is a leader and member of a cooperative management team providing care that respects the dignity and rights of all facility residents, employees, staff, family, visitors and community and serves their needs with competence and compassion.
The DON manages and motivates staff in learning and performing safe, caring practices while being knowledgeable and adhering to facility policies and procedures.
