UDF is searching for Quality & Food Safety Technicians at our Norwood Ice Cream plant.
The hours are 10am - 7Pm, (Mid-Day Shift), Mon - Fri with occasional Saturdays.
The position are responsible for performing a variety of quality assurance audits on incoming products in-process production as well as finished products to ensure that they meet regulatory and company standards of quality and food safety.
These positions also assist in executing additional FSQ activities and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Monitors adherence to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and reports issues to management Performs raw material and finished goods testing to ensure specifications are met.
Oversees and documents food safety incidents including accurately and immediately completing corrective action/incident report Recognizes potential and existing contamination issues and takes corrective actions to isolate compromised product or ingredient by communicating and initiating a Product Hold.
Processes transactions in AS400 to hold and release product Performs routine process and system inspections and audits to insure ingredient/product compliance with established regulatory and company standards.
Monitors others in compliance to facility GMP's and effectively communicates violations to appropriate plant personnel Performs all duties in accordance with Regulatory company policy and established procedures Works with production management to rework product for some routine product quality issues Conducts daily formulation audits in production areas for specification compliance Collects aseptic samples for analysis and performs testing (e.
g.
micro ATP allergen sensory chemical etc.
) as requested Collects samples of products and raw ingredients for laboratory analysis Performs pre-operational and operational sanitation audits as they apply to Regulatory and company procedures Performs associated formulation audits and quality checks as necessary and according to product specifications Conducts plant food safety/GMP orientation when necessary Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission values code of ethics policies and other standards of conduct

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent Years of Related
Experience:
0 -2 years of related experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in SAP the Microsoft Windows Suite to include Word Excel and PowerPoint; Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents; demonstrated knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) as it applies to specific plant operations (HACCP certification preferred); Ability to work in a variety of temperatures; must have satisfactory safety record; Ability to learn and operate standard laboratory equipment; Demonstrated ability to keep accurate documentation of daily information; Demonstrated ability to complete investigation and the documenting of incidents involving product/ingredient Food Safety issues; Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills to accurately create and document company reports; Demonstrated ability to read and understand product specifications; Excellent math skills, good communication skills and interpersonal skills; Job Type:
