Description:
The Judge Group is currently seeking aShipping/Transportation Supervisor for a manufacturing company in the Cincinnati, OH area. The qualified individual will be responsible for the implementation ofmanufacturing and delivery schedules ensuring timely and efficient delivery ofhigh quality bedding products.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
-Plans, organizes and supervises the delivery function ofthe department ensuring timely and efficient delivery of high quality products
-Coordinates with the plant personnel in order to attaindelivery, cost and quality of service objectives
-Ensures compliance with DOT regulations
-Tracks and analyzes functional metrics; calculatesestimated costs associated with the shipping/delivery function and recommendsappropriate alternatives.
-Supervises and directs all job related activities of dockworkers and other support staff engaged in the loading and unloading of freightwhile working with other Plant supervisors to ensure product, equipment andpaperwork availability
-Determines delivery routes, dispatches drivers accordinglyoptimizing efficiencies in time and cost
-Maintains files and records and performs daily file back-upof computer systems
-Recruits, interviews and makes selection recommendations ofdock and driver positions
-Provides initial and on-going training and evaluation toassigned personnel related to job duties and performance expectations using programsto motivate employees in order to improve performance and quality of work
-Responds proactively to performance concerns, discipline,employee complaints and other employee relations matters.
-Identifies systems and procedures designed to improveoperations and makes necessary recommendations
-Attends appropriate training programs to remain current on DOT,health/safety and related issues
REQUIREMENTS:
-Basic English reading/writing skills
-High school graduate or equivalent plus additional collegecoursework or specialized training. Bachelor Degree preferred
-Two or more years shipping/delivery/routing relatedexperience to include supervisory or significant lead level experience andcustomer service related experience; or equivalent training and experience inother plant operations
-Minimum 18 years of age
-Experience working with routing softwareEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
