Wood, Herron & Evans is an Intellectual Property law firm of 51 attorneys and approximately 60 non-attorney staff, based in downtown Cincinnati. We are seeking a Director of Human Resources & Professional Development. This is a unique role that includes direct supervision of support staff, as well as consultation and collaboration with all Staff and Attorneys to create a positive, friendly and engaged work environment. You'll also work with the Executive Committee, Director of Administration and Partners to align Human Resources and Professional Development strategies with overall organizational goals. This is more than your typical HR role.

You'll need:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field and 7-10 years of related experience, progressively taking on increased responsibility; SPHR certification strongly preferred as well as prior supervisory experience
Experience working in a technical environment (i.e. intellectual property, IT, engineering, etc.) and experience in a professional services environment (partnership structure) preferred
Broad general knowledge of all areas of Human Resources and Professional Development
Ability to not only generate great ideas, but the aptitude to actually implement them
A proven capability to manage communication and relate to all stakeholders
Ability to effectively structure and provide support for internal operations in a manner that fits the organization
Proven experience in promoting a positive culture of engagement
Strong skills utilizing the Microsoft Office suite of products
Must be able to accept direction from multiple parties within the organization

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
